What this planner does—and doesn't do.
The calculation
Clear width = bench width − side staging width − gap (when staging is used). Clear depth = bench depth − rear storage depth − extra opening travel − front margin. Each mat orientation must fit BOTH dimensions. Rear storage reserves the full bench width; side staging reserves the remaining depth beside the work area.
Where the simple model stops
No furniture loads, mounting, comfort, reach, ventilation, electrical safety, blade clearance, hinge motion or 3D packing is assessed. The planner does not prove a box fits inside the side strip; compare its actual depth separately. A fit with zero spare room is only a geometric pass. Verify your real setup and follow equipment instructions.
